Answer

Patchd#2

Yes, but it plays through live. Patchd is a real-time mixer, so it can't open an audio file or export one. Instead, play the file in any app and Patchd works on that app's sound as it plays.

1. Open your file in a media player and start it, so it's making sound. 2. On an empty input in Patchd, click Select device and pick Patchd Cable 1. 3. Click that input's lasso button, then click your media player in the list. Its sound now comes through that input. 4. Click FX under that input and add your effects with + Add Node. 5. Make sure your headphones are lit on that input, so you can hear it.

To keep the result, record it in Audacity (it's free):

1. Light Bus 1 on that input in Patchd. 2. In Audacity, set the recording device to Patchd Bus 1. 3. Click Record in Audacity, then play your file from the start. 4. When it ends, click Stop, then File > Export Audio to save it.

It records in real time, so a 3-minute file takes 3 minutes.

If what you're after is a DAW, where you open files and edit them on a timeline, Patchd isn't that today. A DAW is on our roadmap, but it won't be here for a while.
